Our Revit Evening Introduction to Intermediate Course is ideal for beginners or those looking to build on their existing Revit and BIM skills, whilst balancing work commitments and will aid anyone looking to further their study or employment within the design field. 


What will you learn?

This Revit course will introduce you to the software and BIM (Building Information Modelling) and by the end of the 6 weeks you’ll be confident in utilising the software for all aspects of building documentation and design. Our expert tutor will guide you through the ins and outs of the software, with a range of practical, hands-on lessons over a 6 week period, ensuring you leave with the skills and confidence to fully take advantage of Revit software.

Week 3

  • Recap on what was covered on Day 1

  • Phasing | Existing Demolish and New Construction + Phase 1 Phase 2 etc

  • Floor edges and profiles

  • Setting up Sheets

  • Tags and Annotations

  • Using masking and region tools

  • Design Options

  • Management tab | Line styles / Design Options / Phasing / Location and project information / Units Shared coordinates when inserting and linking DWGs and options for inserting and linking Internal Elevations

  • Sweep and profiles and how to re-edit the Sweep

Week 4

  • View range and Plan region

  • Topography and building pad

  • Detail and Associated views in Call Outs

  • Printing, Pdfs and exporting DWGs

  • Colour Schemes

  • Curtain Wall and Louvered Screen

  • Brickwork rotate and change bond type

  • In Place families

  • Rendering and Cloud rendering

  • Walk-through

  • Ceiling Plans and creating ceiling and lighting 

 Week 5

  • Linking Revit models

  • Linking DWGs

  • Work-sharing / Worksets and Synchronisation / the Central model Setting up a project

  • Project North and True North

  • Survey Points and Project Point

  • Scope boxes and how to rotate the plan view


Week 6

  • Coursing Lines for working with bricks

  • Creating a simple Parametric Family

  • Creating Nested Family (Lighting and IES file)

  • Creating Annotation Families and using Labels

  • Creating schedules and editing the spreadsheet / exporting to Excel Door schedule

  • Mastering View Filters (highlight Party walls or brick slips)

  • Using Conceptual Mass for feasibility studies and creating complex walls Introduce the Knowledge smart test

  • How to find hidden elements

Revit Evening Introduction to Intermediate Course

  • What: Hands-on practical course, with time set aside to allow for you to work on your projects and portfolio.

    When: 6 week evening course - 1 class per week with practice in-between.
