Her love for simplicity, organic shapes and traditional, time-consuming techniques is reflected in everything she creates.

Maker Spotlight: Karin Andréasson
Karin Andréasson is a jewellery designer from Sweden who operates Karin Andréasson Jewellery from her studio in Hackney Depot, East London. Initially, her jewellery career focused on 3D design, specialising in glass. She draws inspiration from a variety of sources, such as stunning historical edifices, the natural environment, or even something as simple as a sighting on the street.

Meet Ruth, our new studio manager
Ruth is originally from Ireland, but moved to London for her studies. She specialises in textile design with an emphasis on woven textiles. Her pieces focus on colour, personal narrative and fun.

Maker Spotlight: Coco Lom
Coco Lom works on local design projects and murals around East London. Her driving force is making people see magnificence in the mundane. She has placed her distinctive mark and style on several projects, such as a 30 x 9-foot playground mural for Newport School in Hackney. She encouraged young students to be creative and get involved with the project and was pleased with the visual responses to the piece.

Hackney Spotlight: Mole House
David Adjaye renovated this 'Mole House', a derelict house in Hackney, East London for artist Sue Webster. Webster had previously commissioned Adjaye Associates to build her a home called 'Dirty House'. She was attracted by the abandoned house's mysterious past and the infamous Hackney's Mole Man adventures.
